D+A studio is currently designing an island residence on a challenging site in Friday Harbor. The driving force of the design is the incredible view of Mount Baker balanced with the desire to create a sustainable home. The clients want a flexible home that is cozy for the two of them, yet opens to accommodate the extended family. The project includes small bunk rooms with peek-a-boo water views, along with large open spaces of floor to ceiling windows to blur the boundaries of inside and out.
