Lopez Island, WA
We are in the design development stages of a two story, flexible-space house on the populated shore of Lopez Island. The site, while not on the shoreline, has views of the water from the front and back of the house. Capturing these views was paramount in the schematic design of the house, as was thinking practically about the outdoor spaces (the roof deck for watching the sunsets is off of the second floor, away from the bugs on the ground). A limited building footprint has created a welcome challenge, and this mixed in with capturing the exact view angles has created some exciting outdoor spaces.
